Fond Memories of Wicked Good Charcoal - a Photo EssayOriginally posted by chuckls on February 14, 2004 at 17:47:31: Well with the buzz on the forum that the supply of Wicked Good Charcoal may be shut off by the Brazilian government, I thought I would share some fond memories of my boys, my little soldiers in happy (and not so happy times). Feel free to contribute your stories and pictures as well, so that we all might remember the good times... Views:
HUNTING DAY Here is a picture of the mighty hunters with their kill. They were so happy, they were up until the wee hours counting and recounting their adventure. That's Lumpy on the left, with his Winchester 1897 12 ga. Blackie on the right in the camo T with his Mini 14. Smokey's in the middle with his 22 varmit rifle. They bagged their Cowboy during open season with mixed emotions. "You know, Cowboy's really not all that bad" said Lumpy. "You just have to look through it". Blackie said "Yeah, I know, I even found a mummified rat in my BGE brand bag".

Lumpy decided not to go in the water, he just hung out and caught some rays. Blackie and Smoky snorkeled for a while, but started to feel soggy after a bit so they popped out to dry off. Blackie (in the dark goggles) had a couple of shots of fog cutter after his swim. He feels pretty macho now - "Lemme at that Mapp gas, I ain't afraid of that" he said. Lumpy distracted him until he dried out again.

He was such a happy papa when they were born with all of their stitching straight and even. "Oh, boy, these little dudes are sturdy like fireplugs" he said. No wimpy lightweight babies here!" ![]() COLE'S MEMORIAL SERVICE I took this picture at a much more solemn moment, commemorating the selfless giving of Cole, a fallen comrade. Lumpy read the service, and both Blackie and Smoky doffed their hats and clutched Kleenex. Blackie gave a touching eulogy, showing a softer side we suspected was there but had never seen before. Cole was buried with two lumps of premium South American hardwood charcoal on his eyes. This was done to conjure up Voodoo on the export ministers in Brazil.
![]() Memorial service for Cole Let's hope that we will have many more years of joy with our good WGC buddies, so that we won't have to reminisce only over fading pictures... Chuck ;-) |
